Operations& Production Assistant in Catford, South East London - Children’s Activity Provider
£25k - £30k
Location: Catford, South East London. The role is office-based, the office has free parking on site, and there will be some visits to provisions and events.
Our client is a fast-growing children’s activity provider. Every week they work with thousands of children across PE lessons, lunch clubs, after school clubs, wraparound care, holiday camps and weekend classes. They’re looking for a Production & Operations Assistant to help keep the operational side of the business running smoothly, from equipment and stock through to scheduling and events.
This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who loves being busy and gets real satisfaction from making sure everything is in the right place at the right time. No two days are quite the same. One day you might be packing equipment for a holiday camp, and the next you might be ordering supplies or helping out at an event. It’s a great opportunity to build a career in production, operations and events with a business that cares about safety, professionalism and fun.
On offer is a varied full-time role, a supportive team culture that balances professionalism with personality, and real career development as the business continues to grow.
Working pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm, reporting to the Operations Manager.
Key responsibilities:
Operational support: Help the Operations Manager and Production team plan and coordinate provisions, events and day-to-day operational activity.
Planning and documentation: Help put together and maintain timelines, schedules, checklists and resource plans.
Equipment and logistics: Prepare, pack, distribute, collect and store equipment, and help with maintenance, repairs and replacements.
Stock and inventory: Keep stock records accurate, monitor stock levels and flag when supplies need topping up.
Procurement: Get quotes, place orders and track deliveries for equipment and supplies.
Administration: Keep spreadsheets, purchase records and operational information accurate and up to date.
Quality and compliance: Help with quality checks, follow company policies and safeguarding procedures, and raise any concerns with the Operations Manager.
Events and provisions: Help out on site at events, promotional activities and provisions when needed.
About you:
Experience: You have at least two years’ experience working in an office, ideally in a production, operations, logistics or events support role.
Organisation: You’re highly organised, pay close attention to detail and can manage several tasks and deadlines at once.
Problem solving: You’re practical and proactive, and you look for solutions rather than problems.
Communication: You communicate well in person and in writing, and you build positive relationships with the people around you.
Systems: You’re confident with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and happy to learn new tools such as Asana.
Flexibility: You stay calm and adaptable when priorities change, and you’re comfortable working on your own or as part of a team.
Driving: You hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car.
Attitude: You’re positive and reliable, and keen to learn and develop as the business grows.
What’s in it for you:
A visible role where your organisation has a direct impact on the wider business.
Real career development opportunities in production, operations and events.
A supportive, collaborative team and a leadership team that invests in staff wellbeing.
Regular team socials and staff recognition initiatives.
An office with great transport links and free on-site parking.
Free holiday camp places for your primary school-aged children.
32 days’ holiday including bank holidays.
