Nursery Manager in Gloucester (GL2) - Well-Established Nursery Group
£36-40k (dependent on experience and qualifications) + performance bonus
Location: Gloucester, GL2, based on the Gloucestershire College campus near Gloucester Quays.
Our client is a well-established nursery group with a genuinely people-first culture, running a purpose-built setting right on the Gloucestershire College campus, just a short walk from Gloucester Quays. They're looking for an experienced Nursery Manager to lead the day-to-day running of the nursery, making sure both children and colleagues thrive every single day.
This is a nursery with strong foundations already in place: bright, spacious rooms, a large garden for daily outdoor learning, and a flexible curriculum built around each child's own interests. The new Manager will take ownership of the setting's EYFS delivery, its budget and performance against KPIs, and its team, while also becoming a genuine ambassador for the group in the local community. It's a role for someone who wants real ownership of a nursery that's already thriving, and the scope to help it grow further.
On offer is a salary of £36-40k depending on experience and qualifications, a performance related bonus, and a benefits package that goes beyond the norm, alongside a strong focus on your own professional development.
Working pattern: Monday to Friday, with the nursery open 8am to 6pm (8am to 5.30pm on Fridays), operating 51 weeks of the year.
Key responsibilities:
Leadership and development: Lead and develop the nursery team, fostering a collaborative culture and helping colleagues perform at their best.
Curriculum and standards: Oversee EYFS curriculum alignment and educational programme delivery, maintaining the highest standards of childcare across the setting.
Financial and operational oversight: Support fee collection, invoicing and budget management, and monitor performance against operational, educational, and financial KPIs.
Stakeholder engagement: Build strong, long-standing relationships with parents and carers so they feel informed, valued, and involved.
Recruitment and culture: Recruit and onboard new colleagues, and act as an enthusiastic role model and ambassador for the nursery.
About you:
Qualified: You'll hold a full and relevant Level 3 (or above) early years qualification.
Experienced: You'll have previous experience as a Nursery Manager, with a track record of leading a setting to a high standard.
A strong leader: You'll bring confident people management, leadership, and communication skills, with real, personal warmth.
Tech-confident: You'll be comfortable using Microsoft Suite and early years software as part of your day-to-day.
Organised: You'll bring strong problem-solving and organisational skills, and a genuine desire to grow within the business.
Passionate: You'll bring real dedication to providing world-class care to children and their families.
What's in it for you:
A competitive salary of £36-40k plus a performance related bonus.
Access to your pay as you earn it, a company pension, and a benefits package including retail discounts and wellbeing support.
A generous childcare discount, free on-site parking, ongoing CPD and training, and regular company events including summer and winter parties.
