Operations & Production Manager - Children’s Activity Provider
Operations & Production Manager - Holiday Camps in Catford, South East London - Children’s Activity Provider
£25-30k (experience dependent)
Location: Catford, South East London. The role is office-based, the office has free parking on site, and there are visits to holiday camp locations.
Our client is a fast-growing children’s activity provider. Every week they work with thousands of children across PE lessons, lunch clubs, after school clubs, wraparound care, holiday camps and weekend classes. They’re looking for an Operations & Production Manager to take charge of planning, logistics and delivery for their holiday camps across all their locations.
This role suits someone who loves bringing order to lots of moving parts. You’ll be the person who makes sure every holiday camp is fully planned, equipped and ready to go. Before each camp you’ll get the equipment and activities in place, and afterwards you’ll review how it went and find ways to make the next one better. The business cares about safety, professionalism and fun, and you’ll help children and families see that at every camp.
On offer is a salary of £25-30k, a supportive, close-knit team culture that balances professionalism with personality, and real career development as the business continues to grow.
Working pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm, reporting to the Operations Director.
Key responsibilities:
Operations and production planning: Plan and coordinate holiday camps across several locations, managing timelines, resources and deadlines so every camp is ready on time.
Equipment and logistics: Oversee the packing, delivery, setup, collection and storage of equipment, and keep accurate stock and inventory records.
Procurement and suppliers: Source equipment and supplies, get quotes, make sure purchases are good value and resolve any delivery issues with suppliers.
Activity programming: Coordinate engaging, age-appropriate activities for children aged 3-14, including non-sporting activities, and make sure each one has the resources it needs.
Administration and documentation: Prepare schedules, checklists, registers and resource plans for camp teams, using tools such as Asana or Monday.com.
Quality, safety and compliance: Carry out site visits and quality checks, make sure safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed, and escalate any concerns quickly.
Team management: Manage and support the Production & Operations Assistant, setting clear priorities, deadlines and expectations.
Continuous improvement: Gather feedback after each camp period, fix recurring issues and help the Operations Director improve systems and processes.
About you:
Experience: You have at least five years’ experience in project management, production, operations, events or a similar field.
Project delivery: You’ve taken projects from planning through to delivery, ideally across several locations at once.
Organisation: You’re highly organised, pay close attention to detail and can juggle multiple priorities and deadlines calmly.
Logistics and procurement: You’re confident with stock management, equipment logistics and purchasing.
Communication: You communicate clearly and professionally with people at all levels, both in person and in writing.
Leadership: You can manage and support a junior team member and lead by example.
Systems: You’re confident with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and comfortable with project management software.
Sector experience: A background in holiday camps, childcare, sport, education or events is a bonus but not essential.
Driving: You hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car.
Values: You care about giving children safe, professional and fun experiences.
What’s in it for you:
A salary of £25-30k, depending on experience.
Ownership of a key area of a growing business, with real career development opportunities.
A supportive, collaborative team and a leadership team that invests in staff wellbeing.
Regular team socials and staff recognition initiatives.
An office with great transport links and free on-site parking.
Free holiday camp places for your primary school-aged children.
32 days’ holiday including bank holidays.
