Term Time Sports Coach - Primary School based
22 hours Per week/39 week contract
Tuesday 9:00-4:30, Wednesday 9:00-4:30 and Friday 9:00-4:00pm.
£14per hour + London Weighting + Holiday Pay
Location: Streatham
About the Role:
We are looking for a passionate and energetic Sports Coach to join a well established team and inspire children and young people through high-quality sports coaching. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with children, has a strong background in sports, and enjoys creating a fun, engaging, and safe learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver structured, engaging, and inclusive sports sessions for children of various ages and abilities.
- Encourage physical activity, teamwork, and personal development through sports.
- Adapt coaching techniques to cater to children with different learning styles and abilities, including SEND.
- Ensure safe and appropriate use of equipment and facilities.
- Promote positive behaviour management and maintain a fun but disciplined learning atmosphere.
- Build strong relationships with children, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and assess children’s progress, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
- Follow and uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and child protection policies.
- Assist in organising sports events, competitions, and holiday camps.
Requirements:
- Coaching Qualifications (e.g., Level 1 or Level 2 in a relevant sport, Multi-Sports Coaching Certificate)
- Experience working with children in a school, sports club, or community setting
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Passion for sports and inspiring young people
- Ability to plan and deliver fun, engaging, and developmental session
- Safeguarding & First Aid qualifications (or willingness to obtain)
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
Desirable:
- Experience in PE delivery or working in a school setting
- Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and curriculum-based PE sessions
- Additional qualifications in SEND coaching or behaviour management
