Deputy Play Manager
LOCATION – Springfield Primary School, Sunbury on Thames, Surrey.
SALARY - £12.50- £14.00 per hour
22.5 hours Monday-Friday
We are recruiting for a well-known childcare company that prides itself on being an inclusive, play-based provision. Their goal is to provide children with high-quality care and play experiences, supporting personal development by learning new skills through a variety of enriching activities that are inclusive to all children who attend.
Deputy Managers assist the Manager in the day-to-day running of the club and deputise in the absence of the Manager. Deputy Managers organise, plan and take part in play and leisure activities for children before and after school, as well as during the school holidays. They are also advocates for children’s play.
Our Deputy Managers care and supervise the children, making sure they are safe and happy. You’ll set high standards for excellence, delivering top-quality experiences through careful planning. You will strive to create partnerships, build connections, and foster a sense of belonging where kids feel at home and parents and carers feel supported.
Upholding the highest standards of safety in your club and activities. You and the team will be committed to continuous improvement, seeking feedback, embracing innovation, and adapting to evolving needs to ensure we deliver the best possible childcare services.
A little bit about you…
• NVQ Level 2 in Playwork/Childcare or other equivalent training
• Great leadership qualities
• Previous childcare and/or Playwork experience
• Building positive and professional relationships
• Caring and sensitive to children’s individual needs
• Good Knowledge and understanding of the Ofsted Welfare Requirements, including the EYFS.
• Active and energetic. Prepared to get involved in children’s play.
• Good Knowledge and understanding of the Playwork Principles
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with sufficient understanding of
• Team player and ability to use initiative
• Flexible and reliable
• Critical thinking and problem solving. A ‘can do’ approach to the role Budgeting
• Prepared to train and learn new skills Good IT skills

Desirable qualifications…
Current Paediatric First Aid certificate
Food Hygiene Level 2 or 3
Basic safeguarding training and/or DSL training
Current and valid driving licence
