PE and Employability Skills Teacher / Instructor

£20 per hour (9 hours for the full day)

Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated P.E and Employability Skills Instructor to join our team and deliver a unique programme at Selby High School. This position involves both practical P.E lessons and theoretical sessions aimed at raising aspirations and improving future employability among students.

Responsibilities:

Practical P.E Lessons: Deliver engaging P.E lessons that focus on developing leadership and communication skills as well as other skills which enhance employability.

Theoretical Sessions: Conduct interactive and inspiring theoretical lessons aimed at raising students' aspirations and enhancing their future employability prospects.

Lesson Planning: Prepare detailed lesson plans and materials to ensure high-quality delivery of both practical and theoretical sessions.

Monitoring and Administration: Track student progress, provide feedback, and assist with the administration of the course.

Schedule:

Week 1:
8:45 AM - 10:45 AM: Deliver practical and theory lesson to Group 1.
10:45 AM - 1:30 PM: Lunch break (1 hour) and PPA time (90 minutes) for lesson planning and preparation.
1:30 PM - 3:10 PM: Deliver P.E lesson to Group 2.
3:30pm – 5:30pm: After School Club Fitness session.

Week 2:
8:45 AM - 1:30 PM: PPA time for planning, monitoring, and administration.
1:30 PM - 3:10 PM: Deliver practical and theory lesson.
3:30pm – 5:30pm: After School Club Fitness Session.

Qualifications:

• Experience in teaching PE and/or employability skills.
• QTS/ PGCE preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Ability to engage and inspire young people.
• Organised and capable of managing administrative tasks related to course delivery.
